The collection spans styles for women and men, in nubuck, suede and leather, and is designed to work equally well on a forest trail or a seafront promenade.

RECEPTOR® technology is the key differentiator here. It guides the foot through each step from initial ground contact through to push-off, which reduces the side-to-side instability you get with standard flat sandals on uneven surfaces. FLUIDFORM™ handles the cushioning, keeping the sole light and responsive underfoot. The nubuck uppers are cut from hides tanned in ECCO's own tanneries, which gives them better flexibility and resistance to wear than most sandals at this price point.

That's what the range is built around. The outsoles are engineered for surfaces that change, from packed trails and gravel paths to wet rock and urban pavement. RECEPTOR® takes care of the structural support so your foot isn't compensating for instability on its own. You can, and most styles handle it well. The nubuck and leather uppers used across the range are treated to resist light moisture, and the outsoles maintain grip on wet surfaces. That said, these are open sandals rather than waterproof shoes, so your foot will get wet if you're crossing streams or walking in heavy rain. For that kind of exposure, the OFFROAD® range also includes closed waterproof trainers and mid-cut boots. If your plans involve occasional puddles or a damp trail, the sandals are fine. If you're expecting sustained wet conditions, it's worth looking at the waterproof options in the collection instead.

It depends on the material. For nubuck and suede, start by removing dry dirt with the ECCO Nubuck Brush, then apply the ECCO Nubuck Conditioner to restore the surface and keep it protected. The ECCO Eraser works well for stubborn marks on nubuck or suede without damaging the material.
